My Story

My name is Lindsey Erin Feltis (she/her) and I am a doctoral student in the Counselling Psychology program at the University of Alberta. I am so excited to be joining the Bold Lotus Trauma Therapy team as a group facilitator for summer 2024. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communications Studies, as well as my MA in Developmental Psychology, at Wilfrid Laurier University. Most recently I completed my MEd in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta. I have several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of settings. I have 10+ years of experience at summer camp, 3+ years working as a child and youth counsellor, and 3+ years providing individual counselling to children, adolescents, and adults in various practicum placements. As a clinician, I operate from a humanistic-integrative lens, striving to provide client-centred, collaborative, and strengths-based care to all of my clients. As an aspiring psychologist, I am 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and passionate about ensuring all those around me feel seen, heard, validated and cared for. I am a firm believer that a little bit of compassion can go a long way, and one of my favourite ways to support clients is by helping them develop a more
compassionate relationship with themselves. My research interests include exploring the benefits of mindfulness and self-compassion for children and adolescents, as well as the flow of compassion in interpersonal relationships. When I’m not busy with my clinical work or school work, I can be found belting out musical theatre and/or Disney songs to anyone who will listen.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples who have longstanding relationships to the land, water and region of southwestern Ontario. The local First Nation communities of this area include Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee-Delaware Nation. Additionally,  there is a growing urban Indigenous population who make the City of London home. We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations of Turtle Island (North America).
