My Story

I am a Child and Youth Counsellor, and Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario. With over two decades of experience as a leader in the mental health field, I take pride in being a compassionate guide for teens, young adults, and parents navigating life's challenges. My career has focused on supporting youth struggling with mental health issues, and as a mom myself,  I understand the difficulties of adolescence and the transition to adulthood.

I strive to support individuals with rewriting their negative self-stories with empathy, humor, and humility. I proudly serve families through a trauma-informed, healing-focused, and feminist lens. My devotion is to empowering young people to overcome worries and thrive. I primarily utilize a humanistic approach, although to ensure a client centred focus, I remain eclectic in style to ensure everyone receives the individualized support and therapy they want and need. I am certified in Brief Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Intervention (CBIC), as well as Circle of Security (parenting).

I am constantly inspired by incredible, strong and brave women. Women who stand by one another and for one another, who are willing to break through the barriers created to see and be the change the world needs. I love to learn from others and watch growth happen in all sorts of ways, big and in the very small moments or “ah has”.  I love working with people and providing opportunities to 'be with', and to see people at their greatest and worst, as these are the moments that define who we want to be, and who we choose to be.

Favourite quote: Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.  Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our greatest measure of courage.” - Brené Brown
